R.I.P. Daul Kim

I was going to update with my trip to New York and things like that but,fuck it.

model Daul Kim has died.

She has stayed one of my favorite models ever since I saw her in the first issue of ID that I'd ever bought. Daul Kim came at a time when there weren't very many asian models, and her rising star status made me happy that diversity was going to kick in a little more on the runways.

The interview they had with her was entertaining and that she definitely surpassed Agyness Deyn&it made me wonder why people weren't obsessed with Daul Kim instead.

I started reading her blog before I had even decided to start my own and always found her posts different and more of a journal with some fashion sprinkled in and even some interesting music.

Though some of her posts had hints of depression in them I never thought her life would end so quickly, and with her having taken it.

With Daul being so close to my own age, her death hits even harder and is more devastating than I ever thought it could be(I never knew her thus I never expected my reaction to be so strong).

&Though I did not personally know her I will say that she'll be missed and remain one of my favorite models.

i decided to celebrate el dia de los muertos(day of the dead)

upon further research(we learned about it in third grade&to give you an idea when that was people of all ages wore baggy dungarees sans irony and were not laughed at)i learned that it starts today&extends into tomorrow

so tex mex tonight&real deal mexican food tomorrow

&el dia de los muertos is a bit like halloween in the sense that there are masks, candy& massive celebration but it's not halloween exactly

my costumes were a nerd, a 50s pin-up&on halloween night we were josie&the pussycats

&the topshop shoes i was once so fond of KILLED. i kept them on though.

if you saw the dance floor you wouldn't take your shoes off either.

but i did hoof it sans heels&accidentally traipse through a mud puddle.twice.

oh&actual halloween night started off well&then turned to COMPLETE SHITE.

i should've bought loads of candy&watched the nightmare before christmas.

bleh.
